Let God's Love Abound

There have been many so called Valentine’s Day celebrations that have come and gone. Many years ago this day was born from the heart of someone that wanted to outwardly show their love for another. This day also was brought forth to give courage to those that had none to find their true love.

When we were young women, we looked forward to seeing how many cared by counting the cards we received. I admit I was one of those. But now as an adult we see that true love can’t be found by the giving of a card. We so wanted to be someone’s Valentine. The pride we felt I am quite sure swelled our hearts as we scrambled to open them.

Our hearts would be full of love at least one day a year if no other. Love is a funny thing as many have said. Young love is whimsical and fun. Finding love seems to make the moon shine brighter and the stars twinkle more. Flowers seem to be of more vibrant colors then before. Love is a wondrous thing. If the world had no love there would be no happiness any day of the year.

We are lucky as Christian women to know the ultimate love that outlasts, outweighs, and mostly out glows all others. Did you know there are people out there who think all love can end? Of course they are referring to the worldly love that often does end. But not only does the love we receive from our Heavenly Father continue it can build and grow. This is a promise that we all have from his word.

When the day comes this month to find that perfect Valentine to love, stop and think for a moment. Do they know the ultimate love giver? Is their heart enlarged with the real love that helps worldly love blossom? You are an extreme woman of today and you really don’t need anyone to make you feel loved. I understand we all want that in our life. But while you wait for that perfect soul mate feel blessed in God’s love.

We are told this in His word:
“And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment.” Philippians 1:9

Not only does love make us feel happy but we are told  that it can do so much more. God’s love can grow and from it stem blooms of new knowledge in our life. It should be comforting to know that God’s love crosses the boundaries the world set for us. He will be there when we need knowledge in how to maintain our everyday life. He will give us knowledge in raising our children.

It is reassuring to know that God will be there when we don’t know where to turn. Just by letting His love abound in our hearts, our knowledge can also grow. Who can live in this complicated world without common knowledge to keep them? Knowledge can ease you into the complexity of each new day.

As you allow God’s love to abound in your life realize this. It will also help you abound in your judgment that you so need in this society in which we live. We have so many standards to conform to if we want to be modern women. This brings us to the judgment part. The world’s idea of how to live your life is completely different than God’s idea.

By letting His judgment abound you see more clearly the righteous way to live. The decisions you have to make in your job or home life stand on whose judgments you live by.

There was a man that I often think of that lived in Bible times. His name was Job. God referred to him as a perfect and upright man. I am sure this opinion of Job came from Job judging the right from the wrong way to live.

Judgment in life is a very important part that will make or break us. In this world today I see the younger generation making so many bad judgments. They travel down roads they would not have to if they had made good judgments. I can speak from experience that decisions sometimes are hard to make.

Judgment, is a word that, when said, sounds so final. Often we only connect the word judgment with the time we will stand before the Father. Sometimes we even use this word in the wrong way. We make ourselves judges of others. Knowing in our hearts God is the only judge, our personal life is the correct place to let judgment abound. Living a life that we make from good judgment makes our journey a smoother road to travel.

This month when you hear people chattering about the great day of love and mystery remember your abounding love from God. This abounding love  will not only bring you someone special, but the knowledge to recognize the one God has for you. Also remember your love that is ever growing should be shared with all you meet. God’s gift is something that should be shared.

Man set aside Valentine’s Day to share love. You can make everyday a day to share love. That is why God lets your love abound. This month I will be remembering that even though I have one special person to share my love with I will also remember my love is growing. By remembering this I can tell you that I know all God’s love is just my size.
