The Magnificant Rose
This month of February more then any others
Valentine Flowers will be sent to wives and mothers
The one of choice is usually a bright red rose
I wonder why this is or if anyone knows
Do you ever think about the nature of a Rose
Its complex petals and delicate fragrance to the nose
No matter the color we see before our natural eyes
The thorns it bears seem to make us pass if by
They reach out to grab when touch a Rose you must
But their beauty is worth more than a thorns fuss
We are only human and need beauty in our life
It helps when we feel sorrow and oh yea strife
There once was a Rose that outshined all the rest
And there were also thorns to bear to get this best
Nature taught us that with any good comes a little bad
So we don’t seek the good and that is so sad
This Rose I speak of is one everyone should know
It is our Christ Jesus and in Him beauty flows
His petals will shield us when times get rough
And He will stand by us when our life is tough
The thorns I speak of which this Jesus has to bear
Is a cross of our sins that He chose because He cares
The thorns of a Rose sometimes scare people away
But you have to bear Christ thorns to walk in his way
If you breathe in the fragrance of a Rose from afar
Not wanting to get hurt from a thorn that will scar
You never will enjoy its beauty personal and close
A Rose in your hand will you surely enjoy the most
Roses are delicate and only last for a season
But Jesus will be there for you for any reason
He is the Magnificent Rose, one God made to show
We can have Him in our garden to make us grow
So when you stop to smell any kind of rose
Think of the thorns that Jesus for us chose
His goodness out weighs the thorns He bore
So make the choice to love and pick this rose more
